Wednesday Wrap Up – December 4

Wednsday Wrap Up Graphic - Utah birth doula It’s time to stop judging others – and feeling judgement when none exists. My Choice to Parent Differently Does Not Imply Your Way is Wrong (This applies to grandparents, too!)

I recently came across this series on preparing for birth:

The Healing Group is starting a brown bag lunch group for parents – the first one in the series is tomorrow! This is a great resource for our community.

An interesting look at how legal issues affect birth, particularly the rising cesarean rate. Includes lots of quotes from obstetricians, midwives, nurses and moms that I found insightful.

As a photographer and birth professional, I loved stumbling on this blog: At Mother’s Breast It features lovely images of women nursing their babies. I would love to contribute to the blog, so if any of you are local and want to talk about a breastfeeding session – please contact me!

This birth film by Josh Rask is stunningly beautiful and realistic. The sounds, the faces mom makes, the intensity of pushing, and the tender support from her partner. All are things I commonly get to witness as a doula. And of course, the lovely quiet moments of the new family.
